There’s no need to sacrifice flavor when looking for a satisfying salad in New Orleans. From light and wispy salads to those packed with seafood and steak, there’s something for everyone. For a healthy and refreshing salad, head to Green Goddess. Their menu features a variety of salads made with local ingredients, like the Louisiana Cobb salad with boiled shrimp, bacon, avocado, and blue cheese. If you’re in the mood for something a little heartier, try the BBQ shrimp and grits salad at Domenica. This salad is made with crispy fried shrimp, creamy grits, and BBQ sauce.

The Wedge at Palace Café is a must-try. This salad is made with iceberg lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, and blue cheese dressing. And for an extra kick, try the Cajun shrimp and crawfish salad at Bayona. This salad is made with boiled Louisiana shrimp, crawfish tails, and Andouille sausage.

  1. Aubergine & company: Mediterranean salad

Regardless of what you eat at Aubergine & Company, we can guarantee that you’ll never feel sluggish or heavy when you leave. Everything is made fresh with real, whole ingredients, and among other menu items the Mediterranean salad is hard to beat! They also offer chopped salads but we love the compartmentalization of the Mediterranean style. Choose your favorite proteins, vegetables, and don’t forget to enjoy it all with their homemade tzatziki sauce.

  1. Harmon’s city creek: Italian salad

I’d be lying if I told you this isn’t our *favorite* neighborhood grocer. Harmon’s has seemed to nail nearly every avenue in the grocery game including their premium sliced deli meats, an artisan selection of cheese and chocolate, homemade lunches and dinners, and one of the greatest salad bars known to man. They’re doing a fantastic job of nixing the old memo that readymade grocery store food is somehow always a few days old and covered with miracle whip. I LOVE this Italian salad because it’s filled with fresh mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh grape tomatoes, olives, and artichokes. Delicious, different, and ready to go.

  1. Even Stevens: chicken, berry, & oats salad

Not all salad has to be savory and we are HUGE fans of this delicious chicken, berry, and oats salad from our favorite Even Stevens Sandwiches! It has roasted chicken, warm house granola, spinach, spring mix, pickled red onion, blueberries, feta, and a berry vinaigrette. Available at all of their locations!

  1. Settebello: insalata Grande

If you’re like me at all, you’ll always choose pizza over salad, but the insalata grande from Settebello is among some of the most delicious in Salt Lake City (definitely ordering WITH your pizza). It’s a mixed green salad with fresh mushrooms, tomatoes, pine nuts, kalamata olives, and artichokes, tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette and topped with fresh cracked pepper and parm slices. My other favorite salads on their menu are the warm beet salad and involtini di prosciutto.

  1. Cafe Rio: shredded chicken salad

Ode to Cafe Rio and their fresh, consistent salads. This Utah bred and born company is now located in nearly a dozen states with over 60 locations (nearly half of which are in Utah). I have gone through a “phase” for nearly every item on their menu, but the shredded chicken salad is my constant fallback when I need a delicious, filling salad. Don’t be fooled- they’re nearly big enough for two!

  1. Cubby’s Chicago beef: tri-tip steak salad

If there’s ONE thing you need to order at Cubby’s it’s the tri-tip steak salad. This colorful entree is a mixture of organic romaine & arugula, roasted bell peppers, slivered almonds, scallions, dried cherries, diced tomatoes, feta cheese, and seasoned tri-tip, topped with a lemon cilantro vinaigrette and fresh cilantro. They have locations in Provo, Lehi, Spanish Fork, and Sugarhouse.

  1. All chay: teriyaki noodle salad

All Chay is an inconspicuous vegan Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Rose Park, a neighborhood just west of downtown SLC. Vietnamese owner Kim Hoa Nguyen created All Chay after living in SLC for 32 years and seeing a need for fresh, vegan, Vietnamese food. This teriyaki salad is incredibly delicious and yes, 100% vegan. I was amazed at how delicious the vegan “chicken” was and loved the different textures and flavors in this noodle salad. Visit All Chay to try this unique and healthy SLC salad!

  1. Spitz: döner salad

This SLC hot spot is on our list of Top 10 Places to Eat in SLC list and unquestionably makes the cut for this salad post too. Next time you’re at Spitz order this Döner Salad for a fresh and tangy bowl of romaine, cabbage, carrots, onion, green pepper, cucumber, olives, feta, pepperoncini’s, tomato, tzatziki, fresh lavish chips, crispy garbanzo beans, a slide of fried pita, and a side of balsamic dressing. You can have this bombastic salad as is or order it with their beef, lamb, chicken, or falafel.

  1. The dodo: spinach salad with lemon shrimp

We all love to visit The Dodo for their famous Tollhouse Pie, but what most people don’t know is that they have a killer salad menu with fresh ingredients and perfectly sized portions to make it a meal on its own. Although their Cobb or blackened chicken salads tend to be the trendier items, I suggest you try the spinach salad with lemon shrimp! This spring mix is tossed with cranberries, gorgonzola cheese, candied walnuts, apples, and grapes- covered with a tangy orange vinaigrette. Delicious, filling, you absolutely need to try this.
